Pauline “Polly” Kelley, age 96, passed peacefully at home on October 14, 2019 just shy of her 97th birthday. She was born in Lebanon, NH on October 31, 1922.Polly was the beloved wife of the late Robert S. “Bob” Kelley for 54 years, until his passing in 1999. She was one of 6 children and is survived by one sibling, Gerri Griggs of West Lebanon, New Hampshire. She was a compassionate and loving mother and is survived by her four children: Linda Jones and her husband Richard of Hopkinton NH, Steve Kelley and his wife Marcy of Leander, TX, Gail Holder and her husband Jerry of Round Rock, TX, and Patti Corn of Round Rock, TX. She also leaves grandchildren: Candace Cornell and her husband Danny, Austin Holder and his wife Alexis, Stephanie Kelley, Curtis Kelley, Ashley Holder, Samantha Corn and Justin Holder; great grandchildren Makenzie Cornell, Mason Cornell, and Hutchins Holder. She was affectionately known as “Nanny” by all the kids. She is also survived by two nieces in New Hampshire and by a niece and nephew here in Texas who were very dear to her. After marrying her handsome Naval Fighter Pilot in 1945, Bob moved her across the country from New Hampshire to his home state of Texas where he was stationed in Corpus Christi. What a cultural shock!! They lived in various places over the years and she always loved and adapted to everywhere they lived because she genuinely liked everyone and had a fabulous sense of humor. Bob and Polly’s final home was made in Austin, TX in 1969.Polly’s favorite pastimes were being with family and shopping. It was hard for her to leave any store without finding a bargain and buying something! She also enjoyed reading the daily newspaper, playing Words with Friends and reading the Washington Post on her Kindle. She will be greatly missed by all.
