Raymond (Frank) Ashby of Weir, Texas, passed away at his home on March 7, 2014 at the age of 77, after a long fight with cancer. Frank spent much of his life working in the grocery business. He worked at Piggly-Wiggly, HEB and various convenience stores. He also worked at Caswell Service station, Southwestern University, Weir Grain and Elevator and Wal-mart.
Frank loved going to garage sales, refinishing furniture, buying and selling at Grandma's House of Treasures. He enjoyed garden work, working in the yard, planting flowers and shrubs and playing with his dog "Pepper."
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and sister Ila Ashby.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Ashby of Weir; three children daughter, Joyce and husband Gary Adams of Temple and sons, Keith Ashby and wife Misty of Weir and Allen Ashby and wife Kim of Georgetown; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Pearson of Humble, Josh Ashby and Fiancé Jay-sie of Weir, Wesley Welborn and wife Holli of Round Rock, Aaron Brooks and husband Clint of Buda, Jessica Sanders and husband Nolan of Evant, Alyson Ashby of Georgetown and Austin Ashby of Georgetown; five great grandchildren, Toby Pearson of Weir, Waverly Welborn of Round Rock, Jordan Brooks of Buda, Cody Brooks of Buda and Ethan Hightower of Evant; sister, Tempie Banard and husband George of Georgetown; brother, J.H. Pa was such a wonderful man who I will miss soo very much. He brought alot of laughter to my life and taught me alot of great lessons about life and love. I will miss our long talks while sitting outside waiting for Tating or Nick to get home. JB, Toby, and Kota will always remember all the fun corky things he taught them. They loved him soo much. I am thankful that I was lucky enough to have him in my life. He always made me feel like family and was there for me when I just needed to talk. I will never forget him and he will always hold a very special place in my heart. I know hes smiling now and all the pain is gone. He will always be smiling down on all of us. So heres to you Pa and we will celebrate your life and keep your memory alive. We miss you already. You fly with your golden wings and sore!!!!!! I love you
