Richard L. (Dick) Borgan, age 89, passed away on May 3, 2018, after a brief illness at Estrella Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Georgetown, Texas. Dick was born on September 2, 1928 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Mildred Borgan. After serving in the United States Army, he graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1953. Dick married his high school sweetheart, Doris Louise Anderson from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on December 26, 1950 and celebrated his sixty-seventh wedding anniversary in December of 2017. After graduating from TU, Dick went to work for Gulf Oil Corporation headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for 32 years. As a young petroleum engineer, Dick sat on wells and completed his last assignment as the Area Production Manager in Odessa, Texas.
Dick is survived by his wife, Doris; sons and daughter in laws, Marc and Pauline Borgan, Jeffrey and Kathie Borgan, Paul and Christie Borgan; and daughter, Kristine White. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren to cherish his memory.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 5:00 P.M.- 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 9,2018 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas, followed by a military graveside service at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Georgetown.
