Rick was a great friend of mine in high school. We spent many nights at the burger joint just talking. . I’m happy to know he had a long rewarding life. I will always remember how we were in high school.

I knew him from Sun City Genealogy and the Georgetown Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.  He was always willing to go the extra distance to help others, a great characteristic, he will be missed.

I want to express my condolences to the family and let you know how much he meant to our genealogy group.
Rick was a very active member of our Genealogy Special Interest Group in Sun City and assumed the leadership role for the Tips and Tools group.  He was very knowledgeable about genealogy and technology - always willing to assist others. He was a member of our program committee and helped with the main genealogy meeting in the Atrium each month, sitting at the back by the corded microphone and assisting with putting away the chairs. He regularly attended and contributed to our Genealogy DNA meetings each month.  He was also a member of Sons of the American Revolution and knew a great deal about history and so many other topics. 
On a personal note, he rode his motorcycle to Cherokee, Texas with his drone and surprised me with photos and videos he took of the cemetery where many of my family members are buried.
He is missed and will be missed for these and so many reasons.

In 1973 my cousin Richard was working in Minot, ND in missile silos and had come down for a visit.  He talked me in to going to the Air Force recruiters office but after a couple of visits, I declined to join.  I was lucky enough to spend time with he and his brothers during the summer, but as adults we all went our separate until the last few years where he and my brother shared a love of DNA and Genealogy.   Richard was one of the best, he was a proud dad and grandfather,   I feel blessed to have had a visit with him earlier this year.  These pictures are of his working days in the silos.

I participated with Rick in the Local Sons of the American Revolution Chapter and attended his Sun City Genealogy meetings, an outstanding individual that will be missed by all that had dealings with him.   Ed Deshields

Richard was my cousin on his Mom's side.  I thought you might like a glimpse of his early childhood.  We were born the same year. The first one was Christmas time when we were three at our Walker Grandparents in Madill, OK.  Richard is the one with the cute grin on the left, his younger brother Pat on the right, our Grandma Walker, my brother Mike Walker  and I. Although we seldom saw each other as adults the bond of childhood and being loved by the same people never ends. We met for lunch in March with another cousin, Terry. It was wonderful to laugh at the stories, and share the bittersweet memories. I looked down once and was touched by the realization that his hands looked like my Dad’s. 
      One of the main ways we reconnected in later years was his love and ability to deal with ancestry (I'm sure you all know what I mean!). I have been amazed at the information he found and shared with us. Along with our cousin Gary Walker he gave DNA, they stayed on top of information from the army, and was instrumental in bringing our Uncle Kenneth Walker (MIA in Korea) home. How proud our Grandparents and parents would be of those " boys".
     Nothing could compare to his love for his family and his service in the Airforce. He was a good man, intelligent, curious, patriotic and he will be missed.
