Robert Austin Whitehead

Our beloved Robert Austin Whitehead, 71, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away March 11, 2011. Robert was born on September 6, 1939 to Robert Frank and Lela Florence (Simmons) Whitehead, in Liberty Hill, Texas.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Roy L. Whitehead, CL Whitehead, Ira Whitehead and sisters Mildred Staton, Fay Bell, and Alma Whitehead and ex wife Patricia Whitehead.

Robert is survived by ex wife, Ruth E. Whitehead and their sons, Rickey D. Whitehead and wife Melissa of Austin, Texas, Ronnie L. Whitehead and Susan of Round Rock, Texas; daughters, Rhonda Reynolds of Park Hills, Missouri and Ramona L. Whitehead and Todd of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Allyson, Amanda and Gabrielle of Austin, Texas, Travis of Buckholts and Laramie of Park Hills, Missouri; and great-grandchildren, Jordan and Serenity of Temple, Texas. He also survived by sisters, Idola Green and Edith Todd of Georgetown, Texas and Eva Bowen of Brownwood, Texas; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He will be remembered for his uncanny sense of humor.

The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 14, 2011 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Bell officiating. Interment will follow at William Buck Cemetery in Liberty Hill, Texas.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Morris Staton, Charles Staton, Alton Bell, Gary Bell and Kelly Whitehead. Pallbearers will be Dee Green III, Michael Staton, Pete Rabik, Raymond Cruz, David Alley, Eddie Dee, Vernon Bell, and Paul Meinke.

Robert’s family would like to give special thanks and in lieu of flowers to make a memorial contribution to Grace Hospice for their care and compassion.
