Ruby Dean Neitsch

Ruby Dean (Miersch) Neitsch, age 86, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Walburg, Texas and Austin, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in Georgetown. Ruby was born in Walburg, Texas, to Robert and Carolina (Richter) Miersch on November 20, 1925. She married Walter B. Neitsch on January 27, 1946, at Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg where she was a member. Later she became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and after that, a charter member of Hope Lutheran Church in Austin. Ruby Dean and Walter moved to Georgetown in 1998 and again became members of Zion Lutheran Church where she was active in the adult choir for a short time.

Ruby retired from Hart Graphics Printing Company as a mail clerk in 1981 with 15 years of service. She was a singing member of the Austin Saengerrunde Damenchor and honorary member of Chorgemeinschaft Texas, Life Auxiliary Member of VFW Post 8787, and an associate member of NARFE Chapter 1415 Austin.

Ruby enjoyed fishing and deer hunting and some years was the first to shoot a deer on the first day of hunting and also enjoyed traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Walter B. Neitsch; one aunt, Elsie Stich of Franklin, TX; nephew, Curtis Neitsch and wife Carolyn of Montague, CA; nieces, Ramona Bode and husband Harris of Marietta, GA and Evelyn Tucker and husband Ken of Basalt, ID; and numerous cousins and friends.

The family will receive guests for a time of visitation at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 2, 2012. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg, Texas.
