Devoted father, cherished grandfather and friend to many, Rudolph "Rudy" Benedict Klecka, Jr, age 82, of Victoria, Texas, passed away on July 29, 2020 in Port Lavaca, Texas due to complications from Covid-19. Rudy was born on February 27, 1938 in Poth, Texas to Rudolph, Sr. and Elsie (Findeisen) Klecka. On June 13, 1959, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Teresita Klecka. Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph, Sr. and Elsie Klecka, and his sister Lucille Campbell.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth Klecka. He is also survived by his sister, Mildred Hovenden. He is survived by his five children James Klecka (Georgetown, Texas), and wife Amber, Tommy Klecka (Leander, Texas) and wife, Judy, Melissa Allen (Salt Lake City, Utah), Rudy Klecka III (Austin, Texas) and wife Margaret, and Cindy Kouba (Christian Pass, Mississippi) and husband Doug. Rudy leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, along with other family members and dear friends. Rudy was a devoted Catholic for 82 years, his home church was Holy Family in Victoria, Texas.
Rudy graduated from The University of Texas in 1961 with a degree in Pharmacy. He spent his entire career as a pharmacist and, at one point, ran his own compounding pharmacy. Rudy loved to spend time gardening. He devoted his life to his family and worked hard to provide for them. He was known for being a family man. He was a devoted husband to his wife and what brought him joy were his family and friends. Rudy loved hunting and camping. He often made his own sausage with family. He was known for helping others until his health would no longer allow. Rudy’s was a life well-lived and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 7 p.m. Visitation will precede the rosary and will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Saint Helen’s in Georgetown, Texas with Father McMillin officiating. Interment will be at Our Lady of the Rosary where he will be laid to rest. Pallbearers will be Christopher Kouba, Thomas Klecka, Bryan Klecka, Jeremy Tome, Logan Klecka, and Morgan Klecka.
