Sandra Schneider Everest

Our beloved Sandra, 72, of Georgetown, TX, a resident of Tulsa, OK and longtime resident of Dallas passed away on August 27, 2011. She was born on November 2, 1938 to Donald and Maureen (Smith) Schneider, in Dallas, TX. Sandra attended Highland Park Jr. High and graduated from Hillcrest High School class of 1956.

She will be remembered for her great musical talent as a gifted piano player, a love of people, and unwavering positive attitude and happiness through the most difficult challenges of life; she was also a person of faith, which helped her in her long 20-year battle with cancer. Sandra was active in the Kanchi Auction in Tulsa, and hosted several groups over the years for the Tulsa Council for International Visitors. In later years of life, Sandra was very active in her local community, most notably mentoring young expectant mothers, and volunteering her time to feed the less fortunate. She also was an avid reader, and enjoyed taking continuing education courses.

She is preceded in death by husband John P. Everest, formerly of Dallas, TX and Oklahoma City, OK.

She is survived by daughter, Karri Sabala of Houston, TX; son, Lee Everest of Euless, TX; daughter-in-law, Constance Everest; and granddaughter, Lillian E. Everest.

Her family would like to give special thanks to her doctors and nurses in Georgetown, TX and Round Rock, TX for their great care throughout her battle.

A memorial service will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas with Chaplain Dean Hamilton officiating.
