Sandra McClendon Hutchinson was born July 26, 1960, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Robert Bruce and Merle (Bushnell) McClendon. She passed away from this life February 15, 2024, in Round Rock, Texas at the age of 63. Sandra had lived in Round Rock since 1996, moving here from Dalton, Georgia. She received a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina. It was there that she met the love of her life, William Hutchinson. They married on May 22, 1982, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Sandra worked in Admin Support for the Round Rock School District. A lover of water, she was an accomplished synchronized swimmer and spent a lot of time at the Round Rock Aquatic Center where she trained the lifeguards and swim instructors. She was also an extremely talented floral designer and home decorator. She enjoyed scrapbooking and making decorative cookies and other baked goods for family and friends. In several cities, Sandra volunteered her time with the families and the children at the Ronald McDonald House. Sandra was a member of the First Baptist Church of Round Rock, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Bruce McClendon, Merle McClendon Born and her stepfather, Perry “Pete” Born. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 41 years, William Hutchinson; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick, and Sarah Hutchinson; daughter and son-in-law, Caroline, and Dylan Walker; grandchildren, Syla, Ezra, and Indie; mother-in-law, Betty Jean Hutchinson; brothers and sister-in-law, David and Suzanne McClendon and Daniel McClendon; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Sandra will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628.
