Sarah Nicole Ragaisis was born on October 22, 1991, in Wichita, Kansas, to Michael and Cheryl Johnson. She was the youngest of three, joining her sister Kristen and brother Daniel and completing a close-knit family she remained deeply connected to throughout her life.
She grew up in a home centered on faith and family, where favorite memories included Friday movie nights and conversations about where they would travel next. Through her parents’ work in ministry, she traveled across the United States, with Yellowstone and California among her favorites. She also served on mission trips, including time in Malawi and Botswana, both of which held a special place in her heart.
From a young age, Sarah was strong-willed and full of personality. It showed in her bold outfit choices, her thick hair that never quite cooperated, and her ability to talk her way out of chores.
Her faith was a constant throughout her life. She accepted Jesus as her Savior early on and remained grounded in that foundation. She served in her parents’ church and continued developing a personal relationship with the Lord that shaped who she became.
Her life was not without hardship. At age 11, Sarah’s health became a concern. After years without answers, she was diagnosed with Takayasu arteritis, a rare autoimmune disease. She faced years of uncertainty and complications, including a hospital stay lasting more than 40 days. Through it all, she remained strong and resilient, and over time her condition stabilized, allowing her to continue living with strength and determination.
She graduated from Round Rock High School, where she was active in student council, orchestra as a violinist, tennis, and theater. She later attended Concordia University, where she met Nate Ragaisis—her “Soul-Nate.” What others might have called coincidence, she saw as confirmation of something she had long believed. They were married on May 15, 2015.
Her professional career was in elementary education before she stepped into the role she desired most—raising her family. She was a devoted mom to Ruthann, Everleigh, Lorraine, and Wynnie and took great pride in raising her girls. She always dreamed of having a family and never took a moment with them for granted.
She loved music, traveling, and time spent with the people closest to her. She and Nate cherished their life together, from concerts and comedy shows to professional sporting events. One ongoing point of contention was which teams their daughters would cheer for—the Dallas Cowboys or Green Bay Packers, and the Texas Rangers or Milwaukee Brewers.
She was a proud law enforcement wife who supported Nate and stood beside him through the realities of the job, persevering through the challenges of raising a young family alongside the unpredictable schedule of a first responder.
She cherished her relationships and cared deeply for those around her. She is preceded in death by her grandparents; several aunts and uncles; and a child she lost in 2021.
She is survived by her husband, Nathanial Ragaisis; their four daughters; her parents, Michael and Cheryl Johnson; her siblings, Daniel Johnson and Kristen Sistrunk and her husband, Jeremy; her in-laws, J.R. and DeeAnn Ragaisis; her sister- and brother-in-law, Nick and Melanie Forcier; their dog, Dash; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
The family would like to thank the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Hutto Bible Church, Tree of Life Church, and all who have supported them through prayer, meals, childcare, and encouragement during this time.
A Celebration of Life for Sarah will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 10:30 am at Shoreline Church, 15201 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas 78728
