Severa Meza de Sanchez

She was born on February 20th, 1931, in San Francisco, Mexico. Severa was the third of four children to Antonio Meza and San Juana Sanchez. She was raised in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, by her grandparents, Eduardo and Maria Sanchez.

Severa will be remembered for her love of the Lord, family, extended family, and all her grandchildren.

She is known as the best grandmother and an independently strong mother who raised eight children on her own. She had the biggest heart and welcomed anyone into her home, always with fresh, home-cooked meals. In her spare time, she enjoyed attending bingo sessions and playing scratch-offs. She was known for hosting yard sales as a hobby. Severa attended St. Helen’s Catholic Church for many years. When she gained her wings, she was in the care of her youngest daughter, Grizelda Sanchez.

She was adored by many and touched so many lives.

Those left to cherish her memory, sons, Juan Sanchez (Beatriz) and Leonel Sanchez (Elida); daughters, Socorro Sanchez (Sidronio) , San Juana Dominguez (Hector Hugo) , Guadalupe Rangel (Jose Luis) , and Grizelda Sanchez (Ector) . Deceased children, Bruno Sanchez, and Victoria Elizondo. With a total of 29 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 64 great-great-grandchildren.

Her family and friends will miss her spontaneous personality, cheerful attitude

radiant spirit and that hearty laugh.

A visitation for Severa will be held Monday, June 6, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628. A rosary will occur Monday, June 6, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at St Helen Catholic Church, 2700 E University Ave, Georgetown, TX 78626. Interment will follow at Georgetown Memorial Cemetery.
