Shelby Ann Newman, 35, of Georgetown, Texas, left this world far too soon on September 14, 2025. Born in Austin on August 13, 1990, Shelby's journey carried her through Tennessee, Nebraska, New York, and ultimately back home to Central Texas.
Everywhere she lived, she left behind a trail of love, laughter, and creativity that cannot be forgotten.
A graduate of Stony Point High School, Shelby shined as brightly on the lacrosse field - where she excelled as a fearless goalie-as she did in every other corner of life.
Known for her event planning talents and boundless artistic spirit, Shelby had a gift for turning even the most ordinary moments into something enchanted. She was whimsical, captivating, and deeply connected to the rhythms of Mother Earth.
Whether she was gardening, riding her bike, dancing like no one was watching, or crafting something beautiful with her hands, she moved through life as a free spirit with a soft heart and a soul that sparkled uniquely her own.
Shelby was first and foremost a devoted mother to her beloved son, Maverick. Her parenting was a balance of discipline and gentleness, woven with deep love, curiosity, and open communication. Her warmth was easily recognized by all the people that she cherished. Shelby's laughter had the power to soften even the hardest days, and her kindness sent ripples into the world that will continue to be felt for generations.
She shared a profound, enduring bond with Andy Poe-rooted in companionship, trust, and a deep sense of belonging. Shelby's love for family and friends knew no bounds; she cherished them as eternal soul connections, treating each relationship as something sacred.
Shelby is welcomed into the next world by her Mother, Patty Sue Newman, Maternal Grandparents Audrey & Robert Lepczyk, and Paternal Grandfather, Bill Neman, whose arms no doubt await her with love and peace. She is survived by her Son Maverick, Father Steve Newman and Stepmother Kris Newman of Nebraska, grandmother, Delona Newman of Leander, Texas, Brother, Nicholas Newman of Tennessee, Sisters, Saylor and Kambel Newman of Nebraska, Stepfather, Anthony Chiccarelli of New York, extended family, and countless friends whose lives she touched with her beauty inside and out.
Though Shelby carried struggles with confidence and depression, her light never dimmed for those who knew her. She reminded the world that even fragile souls can leave the strongest impressions.
Now free of pain, Shelby dances, sings, and paints across the skies like the animated fairy she always seemed to be here on earth. Her greatest masterpiece was the love she gave to Maverick-a bond that blooms eternal, even as she soars free-with calmness, freedom, and joy.
Shelby will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who were blessed to know her.
A celebration of life for Shelby will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628.
