1947 – 2008
Steve was born May 23, 1947 in St. Paul Minnesota and passed away in Austin Texas on August 6, 2008. Steve was a man of many talents including car repair and restoration, woodworking, carpentry, building stereo speakers, fixing absolutely anything, or creating a home theatre that is absolutely amazing. He was the “go-to-guy” for family and friends whenever anyone had a problem they couldn’t fix. He could bake a cake or a batch of brownies, rebuild an engine and clean the house, all by the end of the day. He was a loving husband, a dad to many children, a big brother, the oldest son, a lifelong friend, great neighbor, loved taking road trips, the Minnesota State Fair, telling stories, talking about his current car project to anyone that would listen and playing his video games. Steve was lovable, charismatic, cranky, hysterical, interesting, intelligent, a neat freak, full of life, opinionated, quick witted, quirky, talkative and an all around amazing person. He was a beautiful person inside and out. He was loved by many people who will miss him dearly. He was especially fond of his two dogs, Molly and Tasha who he spoiled constantly with daily trips to Wendy’s. He was truly a dog’s best friend.
Steve leaves behind his wife of 13 years, April Chambers as well as his children, Craig (wife Kim), Jason (wife Elizabeth), Kristen (husband Chris), Shannon (husband Geo), Michelle, Bettie (husband Yen), Kevin and Jody (wife Rachel), 13 grandchildren, his mother, Elaine Chambers and siblings Terry, Jackie, Michael, Joanne and Carole and their families and many many friends.
