

Born in 1923 in Cameron, Texas Wayland attended The University of Texas and graduated from the University of Colorado.
United States Marine Corp 1941-1953; ROTC, OCS, Reservist. Duties in Camp Pendleton California. Recruitment Officer: El Paso and Houston Texas.
He went to work in the rough and ready days of the West Texas oil field, in the “bunk house”of Goldsmith.
A devoted and committed Husband of 59 years, Father, and respected brother-in-law. Neveran ill word toward others and genuine sensitive positive outlook.
Wayland retired to Georgetown in 1983. Prior member of American Institute of Mechanical Engineers, Volunteer Service Council - Brenham State Supported Living Center, Georgetown’s Optimist Club, the Men’s Gardening Club, the First United Methodist Church and the talking bunch down at Bob’s Catfish ‘n More.
He is predeceased by wife, Sallie; his son Wllm. Fredrick and infant son Leland; Sisters Winelle of Virginia, Marjorie of Houston, and Dorothy of Kingsville.
He is survived by son, Tom, of Austin and numerous nephews and nieces.
