

Torivia was born on April 16, 1936 to Genaro Ramos and Venselada (Espinoza) Ramos. She live in Georgetown, Texas where she raised four children. She was one of 13 sisters and brothers.
Torivia was employed by Southwestern University for 43 years from April 1968 to July 2011 before she was forced into retirement. She also held a second job at the Wesleyan Nursing Home for some time. Torivia was a hard working and strong-willed woman who was willing to help anyone in need. Torivia was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many.
Torivia is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Acuna of Georgetown, Joe Zavala of Georgetown and Lydia Garza of Dallas; her brother, Genaro Ramos Jr., Cirilda Bazan, Tempera Gonzales, Reyes Gonzales and Dora DeLeon of Georgetown; Rosa Raposa of Hawaii and Rose Mary Rains of Dallas. Also surviving to cherish her memory are nieces, nephews, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Torivia is preceded in death by her parents, Genaro and Venselada Ramos; daughter, Erma Linda Hernandez; grandchildren, Kevin Hernandez and Jesse Zavala; sisters, Irene Ramos Mendoza and Beatrice Miranda and brothers, Marcos Ramos, Leonard Ramos, Sr. and Narciso Ramos, Sr.
Torivia enjoyed making trips to Temple to shop and enjoyed spending time with her family when she was not working. She was a very religious woman and would enjoy trips to San Juan Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a reciting of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Cook Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at St. Helens Catholic Church in Georgetown followed by burial at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown.
