
Vera Anna Harlan Lindsay, age 93, an eight year resident of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2011. She was a former resident of Florida for 25 years and lived in Owego, New York for 50 years. She was born to Wilbur and Nora (Beck) Harlan on June 20, 1917, in English Center, Pennsylvania.
Vera loved to sew. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play baseball and the Little League World Series. Vera was always willing to help others and was known for her great sense of humor. She was a lifelong Methodist and was very active in her church activities.
She is preceded in death by her husband Keith Lindsay, grandson Benjamin Joffe, numerous brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Lloyd Lindsay and wife Nancy of Georgetown, Texas; daughter, Leila Merims and husband Michael of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jennifer Lindsay, Andrea Daniell, Jason Weisberg and Patricia Graham; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Vera’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Wesleyan at Estrella in Georgetown, Texas with Chaplain Dean Hamilton officiating.
