She was born in Dumas, Texas on November 11, 1950. She graduated from Waco High School and later attended Louisiana State University.
She was married to Robert Dashman on September 17, 1994. Vondakaye’s most recent positions were as manager of the New West night club where she met her husband, and then several years as a licensed massage therapist with her own company, Affordable Massage Therapy. After retiring she spent much of her time working on making her yard the most beautiful on the block. Many felt that she succeeded in that.
She was a member of Toastmasters International where she earned the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) designation twice, and was the Division Governor of the Year in 2005-2006.
Her hobbies included gardening, woodworking, interior design, ceramics, sewing, painting, traveling, crafts, and hats.
She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Kaye Combs and Christine Alexander: grandchildren Mykeal Wyatt, Anna Marie Hope, Angela Alexander, and Tristan Schrekenghost. She is preceded in death by her son, Ronnie.
Funeral services will be held at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 23. The burial will take place at the historical Round Rock Cemetery.
