

Harry Wayne Weathersbee, beloved husband, father, and veteran, passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2023 in Georgetown, Texas. He was born on July 25th, 1946 in Aiken, South Carolina and grew up in Augusta, Georgia.
Wayne, as he was affectionately known, dedicated a significant portion of his life to serving his country in the United States Navy after graduating from the Academy of Richmond County High School. He enlisted in 1964 and faithfully served for 24 years, until his retirement in 1988. During his military career, Wayne demonstrated his unwavering commitment and bravery by completing three tours of duty in Vietnam. He excelled as a flight engineer in the P3-Orion aircraft and earned his Bachelor of Arts in aviation management while serving.
Furthering his career and education, he also obtained an MBA while working for Applied Materials. After 14 years with Applied Materials, Wayne retired as a director of manufacturing. Not one to remain idle post-retirement, Wayne went on to establish a site cleanup and site preparation company. Later, he applied his skills and expertise to his role as an independent insurance adjuster, continuing to work through early 2023.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Wayne served as an active member of Hill Country Bible Church Georgetown, where he played various roles and engaged in numerous activities since its inception. Wayne's dedication to his faith and community was a testament to his kind and giving heart.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Toole, his father, William Weathersbee, and his younger brother, Gene Weathersbee. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, residing in Georgetown, Texas, his daughter Dawn Weathersbee of Austin, Texas, and his daughter Crissy Hawley, along with her husband Darin and their children Cade, Ty and Savana, all of Lexington, Texas. Additionally, Wayne is survived by his brother Ronnie Weathersbee and Ronnie's wife Jane of Augusta, Georgia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life, Wayne was known for his generous spirit and his willingness to help others. In honor of Wayne's memory, the family kindly requests that those who wish to pay their respects contribute to one of the following organizations: the American Cancer Society, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or Hill Country Bible Church Georgetown.
Wayne's legacy of selflessness, courage, and unwavering dedication will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
A service honoring Wayne's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Hill Country Bible Church, 600 Stadium Dr, Georgetown, TX 78626. Wayne will be laid to rest at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
