
He is survived by Judith Brink Koczian, his wife of 52 years, and his daughters Deb Stevenson and Heidi Vaughan. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren, Isaac Stevenson, Ellen and Peter Vaughan, and his sister Margaret Rice.
Werner received his undergraduate degree in Economics at Purdue University, which is where he met his wife Judy. He later received a graduate degree in Business from the Illinois Institute of Technology and was employed for 37 years by the International Harvester Company (Navistar International).
He retired in 1999 and enjoyed frequent travel, including multiple trips to his Austrian homeland. Other favorite things include cycling with his friends from Sun City Texas and an extreme love of cookies.
He and Judy were members of Grace Episcopal Church, 1314 E. University Avenue in Georgetown, where services in his honor will take place on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. Fellow cyclists will ride together in his honor on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 2:00 P.M.
