William Allen Munson was born October 12, 1932, in Georgetown, TX to John R. Munson and Ellen R. Lundblad. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Henry Rudolph Munson, Carl Leland Munson, James R (Jimmy) Munson, John Edward Munson: sisters Myrtle Munson Davis, Ebba Munson Renken, Elna Munson Elifson; nephew Neal Munson. He is survived by niece Jane Elifson Marlowe, nephews, Harold (Harry) Elifson, John Elifson (Donna); great nieces, Rebecca Marlowe (David Galindo), Sarah Elifson Fackler (Alex); great nephew Kirk Elifson; great-great niece Olivia Fackler, great-great nephews Tobias Galindo, Alexander Fackler, Jr., Benjamin Fackler.
William was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Georgetown. He graduated in 1949 from Georgetown High School, and in 1954 from Southwestern University. He served in the U. S. Army in Germany from 1954-1956. He was employed by Mobil Oil in Dallas for 30 years, retiring and moving back to Georgetown in 1987. He volunteered at St. John’s and was a member of the Sertoma Club.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 10:30 am at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Burial to follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Georgetown.
Pallbearers will be Harold Elifson, John Elifson, Kirk Elifson, Rebecca Marlowe, David Galindo and Tobias Galindo. Honorary Pallbearers: Donna Elifson, Sarah Fackler, and Alex Fackler.
