

Wilma Jean Bond, loving wife, mother, sister and friend, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2008 with her family at her side. Wilma was born March 2, 1934 in San Saba County, Texas to the late Walter Hassell and Stella Agnes Burk Ford. Wilma and her husband, Robert have been residents of Cedar Park for 30 years, having lived in Florida for a brief time in those years. Through the years Wilma has contributed to her community in many ways; from working as a Chamber of Commerce Representative, a community correspondent of Cedar Park for the Austin American Statesman and working diligently at the food pantry of New Hope First Baptist Church. Wilma played an instrumental role in starting the Cedar Park Library, which today is a tremendous blessing to the Cedar Park community. She had great artistic ability both on canvas and in her gardens. Wilma and Robert married in Austin on September 4, 1954. They were charter members of the Round Rock Christian Church. They are active members of New Hope First Baptist Church and attend the Joy Sunday School class. Wilma never met a stranger and touched many lives and hearts in her 74 years, with her compassion, caring and loving heart. Wilma leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of almost 54 years, Robert L. Bond; her daughters, Karen Denise Bond and Cheryl Ilene Bond of Temple; her brother, Garland Ford and his wife Barbara of Holly Lake Ranch, TX and sister, Renza Rodgers and her husband Dale of Canyon Lake, TX.; along with a host of other loving family members and friends. A memorial service celebrating Wilma’s life will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at New Hope First Baptist Church, 200 West New Hope Drive, Cedar Park, Texas.
