Erline Sylvia Myrick
September 4, 1933 – September 21, 2020
Graveside services for Mrs. Erline Sylvia Myrick, 87, of Tennessee will be held at 11am on September 24th, 2020 at Providence Cemetery with Pastor Watson Wasden officiating. Mrs. Myrick passed away on Monday in Tennessee.
She is survived by her children Jeannie Smith (Rickey), Terry Myrick, Pam Moore (Jeffery), Stanley Myrick (Lori); grandchildren Shea Myrick, Jessica Chambers, Lindsey Edmonds, Roger Smith, Fonda Smith, Chelsea Moore, Savannah Montgomery, Alexander Moore, and Maggie Ruth Myrick; sisters Doris McInvale and Shelba Jean Black; several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ted Claude Myrick; son Tim Myrick; and siblings Paul Stinson, Anderson Stinson, Joyce Stinson, Willie Mae Stinson, Hazel Casey, Raymond Stinson.
She and her husband, Ted left alabama in 1967 to begin an evangelical ministry in Tennessee. For many years she served faithfully supporting her husband in this ministry. Serving as a nurse for many years prepared her for beginnning distinguished career as a Nursing Home Administrator.
A gifted artist, she worked primarily in oils, producing many landscapes of her beloved Alabama home place. Quilting, crochet, and flower gardening were a few of her hobbies. Her rose bushes, lilies, and other flowers were stunning.
She published volumes of family history in which she compiled extensive geneologies of both the Stinson and Myrick families.
She raised five children based on Christian principles. Her charitable spirit not only helped many people, but was also an inspiring example of selflessness to all who knew her.
