One of my favorite memories of Aunt Gladys happened at a family reunion. My daughter was learning to cook, but I never followed a recipe so my dishes were never the same. I always wanted to make chicken and dumplings like my mother and Grandmother Pouncy did, but I couldn’t remember how. So Lindsay asked Aunt Gladys how to make chicken and dumplings. In the most mater of fact voice she told Lindsay “ just like you make your biscuits”. Lindsay didn’t have the heart to say that she didn’t know how to make biscuits either. My mother was a wonderful cook, but all of our biscuits came out of a can
