James Boyette

My name is Joe Boyette from Jacksonville Fl. Mike and I shared a room at Livingston State Collage back in the fall of 61.
Am sad to hear of his passing. He was a guy worth knowing and I have never forgotten that big wide grin of his.
Visited Georgiana back when Mike and I were rooming together. Met some fine folks and enjoyed some good old Southern hospitality.
I know that he is missed greatly. My God bless you and yours is my prayer. Joe Boyette; Jacksonville FL

Mike was definitely my idol on the football field. I guess his favorite play and definitely most effective in galnlng yardage was the toss sweep. If he made it around end, there was either going to be a touchdown or a heck of a collison down field. I played the same positlon after Mike and knew that I wanted his number 41 because of the toughness and desire he displayed. We'll defininitely miss Mike's fighting spirit.

Learning of Mike's passing was a part of my childhood ending. Mike's grandmother, Mrs Reid, lived behind us and Mike and Cindy were constant playmates in the late 1940s and early 1950s. My heartfelt condolences and prayers for Kathy and his children.

Knew Mike for fifty years. He was a great athlete from a great era at Georgiana High School. There is a great backfield in Heaven now, with Mike joining recently departed James "Pete" Brown. Sympathy to Kathy and the sons.
