RUSSELL WAS A GREAT GOSPEL PREACHER WHO HAD A VAST KNOWLEDGE OF THE SCRIPTURES AND QUOTED THEM REGULARILY AS MINISTER OF IDER CHURCH OF CHRIST NEAR HENAGAR ALABAMA. HE WAS ALSO A GOOD CRAFTSMAN OF BUILDING AND WOODWORKING. HE BUILT A GARAGE FOR US ALONG WITH DERRICK AND IT STANDS AS A REMINDER OF SOME GOOD DAYS TOGETHER. WINNIE AND I WILL ALWAYS CHERISH THE MEMORIES SHARED WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO OUR CHURCH AND TO OUR FAMILY PERSONALLY. I ALREADY MISS YOU AND BELIEVE GOD HAS A GREATER NEED FOR RUSSELL AND NOW HE CAN REST IN PEACE FREE FROM SUFFERING. MAY GOD'S BLESSINGS REST WITH YOU UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN. JIM AND WINNIE FRANKLIN

So very sorry to hear this. Russell was a wonderful Christian man. My parents, HB and Lavada Redmon, thought very highly of him and his family. Praying for the family during these trying times.

Russell will be dearly missed!!! I remember meeting him through the Salene Church of Christ in Michigan. An amazing preacher who captivated my mind..my heart..and my soul. I was a young 20 year old who had been raised Lutheran but was lost in my ways and he brought me back to God in Godspeed. Rather then answering my many questions of faith..he directed me to the Bible and where to go and I spiritually grew from there. When I left Michigan in 2009 to Virginia..I immediately grasped to Colonial Heights Church of Christ and have continued my journey since. I will never ever forget Russel till my dieing day. I may not have have been as close to him as many of his friends and family but to me he has always held a special place in my heart. May you walk in peace now with the Lord Russ. And for Suzie and the family my prayers and heart is with you. Love you all so much!!!
