My wife's and my prayers go out to the entire Mosley family for their great loss. Thurston was an honorable man, who served his comrades in the DAV , and the United States, well. He will be sorely missed by all.

I was the President of the 101st Airborne Division Vietnam Veterans Organization from 2010 until 2012, during that time Thurston served as the organization Secretary/Treasurer. When I was elected I knew absolutely nothing about running an organization but Thurston knew everything, so in reality he was running me (smile). Without Thurston's input I would have floundered and the organization along with me so to call him a blessing and an asset would be a supreme understatement. Thurston was a brave soldier, a man of principle , an unparalleled life force and a true friend. We shared many great times together but those interminable nights spent at Fort Campbell drinking Bud Light and telling lies like old soldiers do really resonate. It was not just a pleasure but an honor to know him, I will treasure the memories.

I met Thurston through my late husband Willie Pruitt, we were at a DAV Conference with our daughters. My daughters loved his dog Toby and later they dressed up as clowns. My heartfelt prayers go out Rochelle and family. He was a dear friend and will never be forgotten.

He was one of the greats and a good friend and mentor. As a PDC he was always there to provide leadership. I believe the good Lord told him to come home he had paid his dues here on earth and he had bigger things for him to accomplish in heaven.
