So many memories have flooded my mind these last few days. One that sums up our personalities comes to mind...My mom had sat us down one day, after a sibling argument, and asked us to write down all of the things we loved about each other. When she returned to view our work, I had gone in to great detail on all the things I loved about Shayne while Shayne’s list consisted of ....”I like Shonda’s hair, I like Shonda’s teeth...” 😂 I didn’t “hear”I love you” in the early years. But he was always fiercely protective of me and I knew I could call him in a heartbeat and he would be there. Later in life he was more vocal about saying it. But even if you didn’t hear it, Everyone that was close to him knew without a shadow of a doubt that he loved them! I just hope he knew how much we loved him. I know there wasn’t a day that went by that we didn’t say “I love you” to each other this past year especially. I am so very thankful for all the long talks we shared and the many “I love yous” that I will cherish. I love you with all my heart! Just wish I had more time ❤️

We are so sorry to hear of Shayne’s passing. Our prayers are with the entire family.
I cherish Memories of summers swimming or on our granddaddy’s farms “helping.”
I can still hear us all laughing and giggling .... getting in trouble for running through Aunt Ruby’s house!
Find some comfort in your memories ... they will be with you always.

My heart is so sad hearing that Shayne is no longer with us. I have such sweet, fun memories of childhood summers spent with my cousins. What a crew of wild children we were at Grannie and Grandga Higdon’s ❤️😂😂 I will remember those days forever and hold them close. We never lose the ones we love, for love itself lives on, and the joy we knew together is never really gone.

Grace and peace dear one.
