Arturo "Arthur" Zamarripa Sr.

He met his wife at the age of 15, Noemi Irene Flores, and they were married on January 9, 1968. Together they had 3 children Angel David Zamarripa, Arthur Zamarripa Jr., and Monica Zamarripa.

Art was the son of migrant workers and began working in the fields at the age of 7. He chose to work full time by the age of 15 to help support his widowed mother and siblings. He began working with Betz Corporation at that time, which he later owned from 1993-2011.

Art was a hard-working man who provided more jobs in this area than he ever took, a man of his word, who had a great sense of humor and enjoyed family gatherings and classic car shows. Art loved Mexican music, especially Musica Norteña, and his oldies from the 50’s and 60’s. Art will be Forever Loved, Remembered, and Deeply Missed.

Arturo “Arthur” Zamarripa Sr. is survived by his wife of 57 years Noemi Irene Zamarripa, his son Arthur Zamarripa Jr., daughter Monica Zamarripa Deleon (Noel), grandsons/sons Joseph Angel (Ashley) Zamarripa, Adam Cruz (Alyssa) Zamarripa, and Jonah Alexander Zamarripa. Survivors also include great-grandchildren Julius Arturo Zamarripa, Joseph Zamarripa, Jaiden Zamarripa, Analeah Zamarripa, Alexius Rios, Abygail Rhodes, and Matteo Cruz Arturo Zamarripa; siblings Petra “Betty” Garcia, Mary Moreno, Henry (Christina) Zamarripa, Victoria (Luis) Castañon, Esperanza “Hope” (Rey) Castro, Ydanelesio “Dale” Zamarripa Jr. along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and loved ones.

Art was preceded in death by his son Angel David Zamarripa, mother Asencion Zamarripa, father Yndalesio Zamarripa Sr., sisters Maria Elena Zamarripa and Angelina Alvarado, daughter-in-law Vonda Zamarripa, and numerous other family members and loved ones.

Arturo “Arthur” Zamarripa Sr. age 77, of Gering, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

A Visitation for Art will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gering Memorial Chapel. A rosary will be Friday, June 20, 2025 at 12:30 PM at St Agnes Catholic Church, Scottsbluff, Nebraska. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 20, 2025 at 1:30 PM at St Agnes Catholic Church, Scottsbluff, Nebraska with Father Michael McDonald officiating. Graveside service will be Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00 am at West Lawn Cemetery with military honors by the Nebraska Army National Guard and American Legion Post #36, Gering.
