David Nolan Berry

Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Friday, January 9, 2026, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 10, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Gering, NE. Graveside will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

In lieu of flowers a Trust will be established by the family for his son.

David was born January 13, 1983, in Scottsbluff, NE, to Nolan and Reenie (VannAnne) Berry. He was involved in athletics, church, and many school activities and became an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Gering High School in 2001. He attended Southeast Community College and worked in the restaurant business in Lincoln, NE. He ended his time in Lincoln as an Assistant Manager at Wilderness Ridge. David moved to Minnesota to further his career and was employed at Restaurant Technologies. There he met Jacky Peterson, and they welcomed a son named Nash Lee Berry in 2019. He found opportunities with Legend Companies allowing for more time with his son, Nash, which he greatly valued.

David loved sports, especially Vikings and the Huskers! He was a devoted father and loved creating memories with his son. He was a very giving person, had a big personality, loved life, family, and friends. He will be missed by all who know him. His last gift was that of organ donation that went on to save four lives.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents John and Theresa VanAnne and his paternal grandparents Ernie and Ruth Heine.

He is survived by his son Nash Lee Berry; parents Nolan and Reenie Berry; sister Stephanie (Tom) Gifford; nieces and nephews Brooklyn, Ryan, Luke, Noah, and Samantha Gifford.
