Evelyn Darlene Wood

Evelyn Darlene Wood, 97, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, died at her home on Saturday, February 28, 2026. A gathering of friends will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Caring Edge Hospice in Cheyenne, WY. Tributes of sympathy may be left a www.geringchapel.com.

Evelyn was born on May 10, 1928, in Kimball, Nebraska to Dale “Stub” and Bernice L. (Fisher) Land. She attended school in Scottsbluff. She married Craig “Red” Wood on December 13, 1947, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. They owned Tom’s Toasted Peanuts and The Redwood Shed in Hemingford where she was the bookkeeper and they were Sales Representatives of Watkins Home Products.

Evelyn is survived by her children: Pamela Hernandez and Steven (Sandi) Wood both of Cheyenne, WY, and Kevin Wood of Guernsey, WY; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Craig, parents Dale and Bernice Land, sister, Geraldine Kellogg, and grandson, Michael Conroy.
