Patricia "Patty" Dorn

March 29, 1932February 3, 2019

A memorial service and interment were held on Feb. 7th at Gering’s Westlawn Cemetery for Patty Dorn.

Patty was born in Denver, Colorado on March 29th, 1932 and moved to Scottsbluff as an infant. She was the daughter of George and Babette (Einfalt) Berkeley. After graduating from Scottsbluff High School, Patty attended nurses training in Denver and Hastings. As an RN, she was employed at the old hospital in downtown Scottsbluff as a floor nurse and supervisor.

She was married to Albert (Al) Dorn in 1955 and they made their home in Gering shortly after the wedding. Patty moved away from nursing and eventually became a full-time mother and wife in Gering. She enjoyed her children, cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles, bridge and especially reading. Her family often joked that she singlehandedly kept Book-of-the-Month Club in business. Until her death she still read at least one book a week. She was active in the alter guild of St. Timothy’s and St. Andrew’s Episcopal churches through the years.

Survivors include her son Bill (Lisa) of St. Louis, Missouri, grandson Conrad Dorn of Troy, NY and granddaughter Larissa Dorn of Providence, RI.

Preceding her in death were her husband Al, parents George and Babette, sister Nancy Lovgren, son Jeffery and daughter Amy.
