Released to Glory: It is with profound sorrow yet humble acceptance of God’s perfect will that we surrender William “Bill” Leroy Marietta, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, into our Lord’s loving arms, recognizing a fight well fought and a race well run. Bill Marietta, 82, of Gering, Nebraska, died September 24, 2020, at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He was born in Craig, Colorado, on August 21, 1938, to Ernest Marietta and Crystal (Conner) Marietta. Bill was an Army veteran, in service to his country from 1956 to 1959. On June 3, 1962, he married Lenora Gail (Phillips) Marietta. A graduate of Frontier School of the Bible, Bill dedicated his life to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, serving at the Rio Grande Bible Institute in Edinburg, Texas, and Frontier School of the Bible in LaGrange, Wyoming. Bill’s lifelong ministry also included his years as a home-based missionary to Mexico, jail ministries in Torrington, Wyoming, and Gering, Nebraska, and as the pastor of several churches. Until his recent illness, Bill served as the pastor of the Federated Church in Mitchell, Nebraska. Bill was also a keen outdoorsman; he enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter, activities he especially enjoyed sharing with his sons. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Crystal Marietta, his sister, Margaret (Marietta) Manion, and his eldest son, Michael Kirk Marietta. Bill is survived by his wife, Gail. He is also survived by two sons and their wives, Casey and Becky Marietta, and Paul and Kim Marietta, as well as four grandchildren: Molly (Marietta) Martin, Mitchell Marietta, Colin Marietta, and Jacey Marietta. After a private graveside service for the family, a celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Federated Church in Mitchell, Nebraska, at 2:00 p.m. on October 3, 2020. Ron Shoults will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the general fund of Tentmakers Bible Mission, LaGrange, Wyoming,

I am so very sorry to read that Bill had passed. I was looking on the internet yesterday evening, and it surely was divine intervention that the obituary turned up. My prayers are with you and your family. May God give you peace and may wonderful memories sustain you until you meet again.
I know that he and his namesake and all the rest of the family are rejoicing in the presence of the Almighty.

Our love and prayers to Gail and family. Conflicting schedules made us unable to attend the Memorial Service, but know that you are in our thoughts today. Bill was a wonderful servant of Christ and his fellowship in our ministers group will be missed.

Bill- I cant even begin to describe this wonderful man. He was so devoted to sharing the Gospel and so down to earth. He accepted people as they are and did it with such love and open arms, showing Christ's love. He was my pastor at Hawk Springs Bible Church for many years and he officiated my wedding. He always had a joke to tell and loved to laugh. The world was a better place with him in it and now he gets to shine bright in Heaven. You will be dearly missed!

Bill, we will miss you. The world has lost a gifted man - a spiritual giant and a hard working tradesman. I will forever remember the great conversations we had. As a fellow tradesman in ministry, I always appreciated the open, frank conversations we were able to have and knowing that a heart of love was always there in the midst of those conversations. I also remember the times of laughter. You always were a great storyteller that could make us laugh till we cried. It's going to be wonderful when the new heavens and new earth rolls around; we're going to be there in our glorified bodies praising the Lord, doing whatever it is that the Lord has in mind for us to do, and in the midst of that, enjoying our conversations once again. Till then, my friend - enjoy your new mansion! Love you, bro'. Ken

My family has been friends with the Marietta family since 1969 when my dad and Bill were students at Frontier School of the Bible. I have fond memories of time with the Mariettas through the years. Deepest sympathy to Bill’s family.

Bill was a man of conviction and a heart for the lost. He taught me on a deep level to love the unlovely no matter how many times they disappoint you. Bill also was a hard worker earning a meager wage to help fund his ministries and never hesitated to give this young man guidance.
There will be a large hole in the ministry now that Bill has moved on to hang out with the Lord.
Gail, we love you.

Thank-you, Mr. Marietta for sharing your love for people and missions at Frontier School of the Bible. One of my most memorable classes that I attended!

I have many memories of Pastor Bill but I also have regrets. I regret not contacting him before his passing it's been 14 years since I've talked with him. He married Reuben and I and he took us under his wing and I also had the joy and privilege of taking care of his mother at the trailer house in La Grange. My memory also is getting baptized by
Pastor Bill in the Canyon. And I'll never forget him telling me he loved me like a daughter and I still feel loved to this day. Thank you Bill and Gail for all the love you showed me.

I have many fond memories of Bill while at Frontier School of the Bible. He would always take time to talk to and play with my kids and they called him Grandpa Bill! Praying for the family.
