Alavine Marie Layes

It is with great sadness that the family of Alavine Marie Layes, 73, of Glace Bay announce her peaceful passing with her loving family by her side on May 6, 2022 at the Glace Bay Hospital. Born on September 12, 1948 in Cape St. George, NL. Alavine lived in Cape St. George until retiring to Glace Bay in 1997 to be closer to her family.

A loving mother to daughters Ruth (Earl) and Josephine, grandmother to Della, Shane (Catherine), Tamara, Tara, Hannah (Michael), Damien; great-grandmother to William; sister to Delcie (Greg), brothers Wallace (Dale) and Albert (Carolyn).

Predeceased by sisters Mary (Jack), Irene; brothers Limbert, Jerome (Constance), Leonard; parents Josephine and Adolph Renouf.

Cremation has taken place, a memorial service will take place at a later date in Cape St. George, NL. If desired, donations in Alavine’s memory may be made to the S.P.C.A. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.pattenfuneral.com.
