Andrea Maylouise MacIntosh

It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Andrea, on Saturday March 4,2017 at the An Cala unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Homeville at her grandparents home, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Clara (Wadden) MacLeod. A teacher by profession, she taught for the Town of Glace Bay until her marriage. She then devoted the rest of her life to raising her family.

She is survived by daughters Clara (Dave Carroll), Lesley and Mabelann (Michael) Kosick of Port Morien, Roberta, Halifax and son Colin (Laura) of Eastern Passage. Grandchildren Trisha and Jonathon Kieley, Hannah and Maya Kosick, and Larissa MacIntosh. Sisters Patsy Antle Coxheath, Myrtle Beckwith Innisful Ontario and brother John (Marlain) MacLeod, Glace Bay.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Chester S MacIntosh.

No visitation by request. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday March 9,2017 at 2pm in St. John’s United Church Port Morien. Interment will be in Black Brook Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John’s United Church or a charity of choice.
