Angus MacQueen

We the family of Angus (Guy) MacQueen are saddened to announce his passing on May 09, 2023. He passed peacefully at the Glace Bay General Hospital with his children present. Angus was born on April 24, 1932 in Glace Bay, NS. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice (Munroe) and his parents, Alexis "Lexi" (Boyd) and Daniel "Sonny" MacQueen. Angus was also predeceased by his brothers Allister, Charlie and Blaine MacQueen. Angus is survived by his children, Alexis (Jim MacDonald) and George (Tasha) MacQueen and by his grandchildren, Alanna MacQueen (Brad Ivany), Curtis MacQueen and Katherine Clegg (Oliver) and Alison Cowie (Lewis) and by great grandchildren, Ellie, Owen and Chase Bresson, Ethan Ivany, Linden and Kinsley Clegg and Eli and Zoey Cowie. He is also survived by brothers Cecil (Starla), Keith (Gail) and sister Tena (Jimmie Simmons). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Guy was a machinist by trade and worked in the central shops at DEVCO. He was a lifetime loyal supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs and one of his best memories was getting to meet the team in person, made possible by a relative, Bob Stellick, who worked for the Leaf Organization. Angus loved to watch the Blue Jays play. He was an active member of the Glace Bay Kinsman Club and the K-40 Club. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family inurnment at his request. The family would like to thank the medical staff and nursing staff of 3rd Floor South of the Glace Bay General Hospital, the staff of New Waterford Homecare and the staff of the VON for their compassion and care given to Dad.
