Calyssa Marie Russell

It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of our baby girl, Calyssa Marie Russell, 17 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Monday, April 2,2012. Born in Glace Bay, Calyssa was the beloved daughter of Tommie and Wanda (Walton) Russell of Donkin.

Calyssa was a loving and wonderful daughter,sister, granddaughter and aunt. She was a fantastic cook who had a great sense of humor and was a joy to be around. She never missed an opportunity to tell her family how much she loved them.

Besides her parents, she will be sadly missed by her sisters, Jennifer (Max Sehl), Sask., Jamey and Sara Jewells, brothers; Jeffrey (Laura), NL, Richard (Mikaela), On., Tommy (Courtney), AB and Ryan (Kate), AB. and grandparents, Marie and Hap Graham.

“Gaga” will be missed by her pride and joy, niece, Brooklyn and also by nieces, Julie, Jemma and nephew, Broden and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calyssa is also survived by her companion and the love of her life, Matt MacAulay, who was her constant support and strength and by his dad, Billy. Calyssa will be missed by her two dearest friends, Ashley Currie and Becca MacVicar .She was predeceased by her loving brother, Justin Jenkins, grandmother, Mora Walton, grandfathers Richard Walton and Thomas Russell.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 11,2012 at 2:00 pm at St. Lukes United Church , Donkin with Rev. Chris Matheson officiating followed by interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
