We were so sorry to here of your loss. Charlie was a great man and will be missed dearly.

I have many fond memories of Charles quizzing me about politics when I would come to the house in the morning and afternoon to call on Alan.  We walked to school every day together and I think Charles was making sure his son was in the company of someone who stayed on top of current events.  I would read the paper or watch the news in the event that Charles would ask me the next day.

I was greatly saddened to learn of the passing of someone whom I had known first as a teacher, beginning in 1961, and whom I had held in high regard as a colleague in education and as a friend ever since.
