With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Clarence Andrews Matheson, on Friday November 8, 2013, at the New Waterford Heights ,with loving family at his side. Clarence was 60.

Born in Glace Bay on January 16,1953, Clarence was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Andrews) Matheson. Clarence was a kind and gentle man ,family meant everything to him. He was always willing to lend a hand to friends & relatives.

Clarence is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rose (Barnstable)Matheson, daughter Melanie (Scott) Snow, sons Bradley & Michael, brother Robert (Linda), sister Georgina (Mike ) Byrne also sister in laws Sandra Matheson , brother -in-law Junior Barnstable (Sandra), sister -in-law Barbara (Dave)Burt. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Clarence was predeceased by his parents and by brother Sandy Matheson, father and mother -in-law Joseph & Theresa Barnstable and sister -in-law Brenda Hiscock

Cremation has taken place as per Clarence wishes. Arrangement are under the direction of Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union Street, Glace Bay. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 13,2013 at 2 pm in St. John’s United Church in Port Morien. With Rev. Bob Biggar officiating .
