It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our extraordinary father, grandfather, brother and friend Clifford Vincent "Poppy" Boutilier (who was known to everyone as Poppy). Clifford passed away at his home on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 68 years of age.
Clifford was the son of the late Gordon and Frances (Clements). Clifford lived most of his life in Glace Bay. He worked at many jobs throughout his life, but his main goal was to raise his five sons to be kind, generous and respectful young men in which he did an excellent job. Not only was he a devoted family man, he was also a community minded man who gave to many charities in his community. There are not enough words to describe how caring and giving he was to his family, community or just a random stranger in need. He had many passions in life; music, card games, long drives, bingo, cooking and helping out his sons in their pizza shops, but most of all spending time with his family.
Clifford was an extraordinary father, who loved his children dearly. He is survived by his children Richie, Billy (Carrie), Piper (Janey), Scott (Melissa) and stepdaughter Sara Butts; grandchildren Alyssa, Mikie, Becca, Sara, Morgan, Hailey, Matt, Gordon, Kyle, Kayla, Brandon, Breanna, Jeffrey, Chloe, Madison, Noah and Brayden, great grandchildren Mason, Garrett, Aaliyah, Hunter and Jaxon. He is also survived by brothers Barry (Marlene) and Tony (Brenda); sisters Gail (Ervin), Myrtle, Geraldine (Greg) and Sandra (Billy) and best friend for over 40 years, Rick MacNeil and lifetime brother “friend” Biscuit and Pat MacLean and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Clifford Joseph (Chickie) a daughter in infancy Necole Frances, brothers Blair, Sheldon, John, Francis, Marvin and 3 brothers in infancy Wade, Glennis and Garland as well as sisters Margie and Wilma.
