OBITUARY

Fredrick Holman

September 8, 1932July 18, 2019

Sadly, we announce the death of Fredrick Arthur Holman on July 18,2019 with his loving family at his side. Born on September 8,1932 to the late Fred and Margaret (Gilholm) Holman, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Fred was a Cabinet Maker by trade and enjoyed animals, music and gardening. Involved in harness racing for many years, he always held a fondness for the sport. As a Friend of Bill W for 37 years, he enjoyed many friendships and helping others. Fred loved music and enjoyed singing with the Celtic Chorus and the St. John United Church Choir. As an avid gardner, most of Fred’s summers were spend maintaining and harvesting his gardens and berries that he loved to share with family and friends. Fred is survived by his wife of 63 years Georgina (Simpson); daughter Sheryl, son-in-law Daive Paruch, grandson Andrew (Tonda), Great grandchildren Abby, Luca, Lexa and Axl; brother and sisters –in –law Alfred (Barbara Ann), Shirley, Jessie and Francine. Also survived by special nephews Dennis (Karen) and Leonard (Gina) who were always there for him and great nephews Morley and Mason with whom he shared a special bond. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother Jack (Helen), sisters Edith (Warren), Margaret (Hughie), Tene (Fred), Mabel (John) and Dorothy (Duncan); brothers-in-law Jimmy, Kenny, Sonny and Sam, sister-in-law Bernadette. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place under the direction of Patten Funeral Home, Glace Bay. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations to a charity of your choice.

our chorus very suddenly lost one of our favourite members in FRED.THEwhole chorus is shocked because Fred fit in so quickly and was so much fun.Also very interesting to talk to about his family and a very pleasant person to be around.I'MISS him as will all of us Peace be with you all.let us know the arrangements ''JUST A GREAT FELLA''
