Jessie Groves

Mum was born Jan 16, 1929 in Port Morien, she was the youngest daughter of the late Mary (Debison) and Wilson McDonald.

At a young age Jessie moved to Ontario to begin her working career, Jessie worked in Administration at various retails. Upon her returning to Glace Bay she found many years of employment at Metropolitan store and IGA, where she made many life long friends.

Upon retirement she enjoyed her family, with whom she shared her knitting,crocheted creations and home cooked meals.

Jessie is survived by her daughter Linda (Sheldon) McEwan, Glace Bay. Grandson Aaron McEwan, Fort St. John, BC, Granddaughter Jennifer McEwan (Troy Lee),San Francisco, CA, great grandsons Deven McEwan and Hunter Lee. Sister-in-laws May MacDonald and Lill Talbot, Glace Bay. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by Husband George Groves, sisters Alice Groves, Grace Crawford, Emma McPhee and Anne Lloyd. Brothers Alex and Frank MacDonald. Brother-in-laws Eli Groves,John Crawford,Joe McPhee,Melvin Lloyd. Sister-in-laws Susie Morgan and Effie MacDonald.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Seaview Manor for the care and compassion given to my mother during her stay.

Also a special thank you to Dr Cadegan and staff for the care and kindness that you gave to Jessie over the years.

Do to COVID restrictions there will no public visitations. Interment will take place at Black Brook Cemetery, Port Morien.

Donations in memory of Jessie may be made to a charity of ones choice.
