Born in Donkin, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Ann (Kupusa) Jewells.
Ma spent her life in the village of Donkin, where she and her late husband Gutsie raised two boys, Dwayne and Richie. Ma was a kind and gentle soul who strongly believed in the power of prayer. She enjoyed her daily “Tim Hortons Run”, having her tea with friends and sharing a laugh. She also enjoyed darts at the Legion, catching up on the latest news in the community.
Ma is survived by her sons Dwayne (Gina) and Richie (Wilberta), granddaughters Jacqueline, April and Marcie and great granddaughter Zoey as well as her longtime family friends Emily MacIsaac (Jimmy) and Frances Cluett (Keeping), sister Mildred (Ron) and brother-in-law Ron Lynk (Carol).
Besides her parents, Ma was predeceased by our father William “Gutsie”, sister Florence “Sissy”, brothers Billy (Margie) and Ernie (Ruby), brother-in-law Leo Jackson and nephew Billy Kupusa.
We would like to extend our thanks to the staff of Glace Bay General Hospital and the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for your care and compassion. You will be forever in our hearts.
