86- Glace Bay

We the family regret to announce the passing of Neil MacDougall at Glace Bay Health Care Complex on June 2, 2014 with his loving family at his side. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late D.W. and Mary (MacDonald) MacDougall. He was employed with the Town of Glace Bay for many years then Eastern Light and Power, then Nova Scotia Power. Over the years, he enjoyed watching and playing baseball, football and hockey.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Margery (Munroe) as well as two daughters, Sheila (Donnie) LeBlanc and Lorna Currie, both of Glace Bay and one son, Dan (Jennifer) MacDougall of Halifax, grandchildren, Brian (Alicia), Greg (Samantha) and Amy LeBlanc, Kristen Currie, Kerri and Alex MacDougall and great grandson Jaxson LeBlanc; sisters-in-law, Agnes MacDougall and Sheila (Clifford) Cross and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Angus, sister Jean (in infancy) and Annie Clarke, brother-in-law Jerry Munroe and sister-in-law Sally Munroe.

Visitation for the late Neil MacDougall will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 12 – 2 pm at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union Street, Glace Bay. Funeral service will take place Friday, June 6 at 2 pm in Patten Funeral Home Chapel.

Family flowers only, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Society or Charity of one’s choice.
