We regret to announce the passing of Dempsey, on June 1, 2021.
Born March 5, 1954 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, He was surrounded by his loving family, “his Mary”, Daniel and Dawn were with him until the end.
He is survived by the love of his life and best friend “his Mary”, son Daniel (Marlene), daughter Dawn (Jeff); grandchildren Ethan and Emma who he adored and loved dearly. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Debbie Cameron Johnson. Dempsey is also survived by sisters Kelly Johnson Jones and Colin Lake (Jamie) as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his two precious fur babies Julio and Sadie.
Dempsey is predeceased by his Sister Dani; Brothers Billy and Don; his Mother Lauriene and his grandparents Donald and Donelda MacIntyre.
He was also predeceased by Mary’s parents James and Carmella Marrion.
Dempsey worked for the C.B.R.M. on the water Dept., then later with Parks and Recreations. He also spent many years working at the Caledonia Club as a bartender and bouncer. Dempsey enjoyed his years in broomball and baseball, and made many friends over the years. He was an avid Montreal Canadians and Blue Jays fan. He enjoyed his Friday night darts where after he shot his darts would say “I hate this game”.
He was known to everyone as the gentle giant. He enjoyed his yearly trip to Moncton with his buddies Billy MacIntyre, John Burroughs and Paul Ford (Deceased).
He had a trip to Alberta that he greatly enjoyed thanks to Mary’s sons (Neil (Alison), Mason (Teri) and Kyle).
He looked forward to his FaceTime with Mary where he could see her granddaughter Samantha.
In Closing, Dempsey always enjoyed his grandmere’s loppy which he continued to make throughout his life.
Forever loved and missed until we meet again.
Arrangements are under the direction of Patten Funeral Home. Burial and Celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
