Glace Bay

It is with great sadness that we the family of Bill Ferneyhough announce his passing on April 10,2016 at the Glace Bay General Hospital. Born in 1946, Bill was the son of the late Sidney Ferneyhough and Elizabeth Ferneyhough- Ashe.

Bill was a quiet, gentle man with a love for animals, books, music, cars and motorcycles. Before taking a stroke in2005, Bill worked at Cameron’s Building Supplies. He so enjoyed working in the Lumber yard.

Tinkering in his garage with his Harley or truck or playing his guitar were his favorite past times. Being an accomplished guitarist, Bill had several guitars and loved music. He also had a fondness for Nascar.

Bill spent a short time in McGillivary’s Guest Home before going into Taigh Na Mara in Glace Bay.

Bill is survived by sisters Elaine (Jack) MacQueen, Points West Bay , Doreen (Frank) Lanigan, Dartmouth, Corrine Shea, London On, brothers Wayne (Judy) ,Dartmouth, Ross, Woodstock On, step sisters Carolyn (Sheldon) MacDonald, Glace Bay, Agnes (Darien) Ingraham, Salisbury NB, step brothers Hughie Ashe, Mira, George (Violet) Ashe, Halifax; sister in law Joyce Ferneyhough Fredericton NB as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Fred and Cecil.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation for Bill will be held on Saturday April 23, 2016 from 12-2pm with Funeral Service at 2pm in Patten Funeral Home 71 Union St, Glace Bay.

Donations in Bill’s memory can be made to local SPCA, Two Rivers Wildlife Park or Taigh Na Mara.
