Al will always be fondly remembered!  He was an amazing officer and friend!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Al's family.We probably met Al when we all worked in the Traffic Division together.What I think of first about Al is his smile.His whole face would smile.He was an awesome and caring guy. We will miss our "Brother in Blue" May you be comforted by your memories. God Bless you all.

Prayers and thoughts go out to Heather and Sauer family. He will be missed. I have know this funny guy since my childhood and while we didn't have much contact through the years, would bump into him at places and he'd talk and talk as he could so easily do and always sharing funny tales. Thanks Alfred for serving your country and giving so much of yourself to so many.

Alfred and I grew up together in Foxwoods and were in the same grade. We lived a few houses from each other. The entire Sauer family were great friends. Alfred always had a big smile for you and was a man who was accepting of all. My sympathy is extended from Washington where I live, to all of you.

Al, your were a wonderful person and always had a smile on your face to brighten up anyone's day.  Whether writing a ticket while on the wheel or helping kids at one of the many FPAL events you attended, you did it with such enthusiasm and enjoyment.  You made a great impact on many peoples lives and you will truly be missed.

Al and I were in the helicopter unit together.  A good friend to all.

I will miss you at the Dentist,  we all miss you, because you were the BEST. My God Bess your wonderful family, our prayers will be with you and your Family, what a wonderful. Service Nick and Mary Taylor.

You always made me smile and made me laugh both when you were on KCPD and when I would see you after retirement. I've always thought the world of you since I was a young officer and 20 years later, I still do! I also thank you for your service to our country! I know you'll be patrolling heaven on a "wheel" and I will see you some day! GODSPEED!

Al and I attended the Police Academy together in 1976 and I worked with him for nearly 30 years.  He never met a stranger, and I am proud to have called him my friend.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Al was an amazing man.  Always willing to help whenever asked and just a good friend.  A little devious on occasion, but always made our hearts smile.  He will be missed.

I have known Alfred from the time we went to Big Shoal elementary school, beginning in the 3rd grade and through high school.  He was a great friend and brother on the police department.  He will be greatly missed.

Boy Scouts.  Alfred and I worked on the Hiking merit badge together in order to obtain Eagle Rank.  Just the two of us walked many a mile together and were in the same Eagle class.  I can remember each of the six hikes and where we went.  He could make them memorable.  With him moving on, I have lost my hiking partner, but it is my gain to have had him as a friend and he lives on with me.  Keeping up with him was always tough.

We are so sorry your dad passed!  He raised two really great girls that I enjoyed always being around! Teresa and Diana, we will keep you and all of your family in our prayers. 
His service to our country and our communities is so appreciated and selfless!  He is gone way too soon!  Hugs to you!

I only knew Officer Sauer when he came through the Townhouses and talked to kids playing.  We are sorry to lose him.

I'd have liked to have known Al better. He will be missed!

Al was like a second dad to me. He always knew how to make me smile and raise my confidence. He was a huge supporter of everything i did. What an amazing man.

When I think of Al I remember when he was involved in a motorcycle crash at work.  I responded as part of the fire crew and we all were concerned enroute.  We all got there at the same time and Al was a bit shook up but not hurt badly.  I'll always remember the Chief walking up and saying "Al, is my bike ok?"  Without missing a beat Al replied, "Forget that bike, how's my jacket?"  We knew he was fine.

I am honored to have worked alongside Al.  His stories were always great and his experiences were a treasure.  

To Heather and the rest of his family, thank you for sharing him with us.  He will be missed.

My memories of Al all include his infectious smile.  He was an amazing 'soda pop jerk' and will be missed by all.

I knew Al all my life and will miss him greatly. He was a great neighbor to have to all of my family. My family sends their condolences to yours with a heavy heart. He had a great life and he loved you all very much.

The first time I met Al, he immediately made me feel like family. He was warm, funny, generous of spirit and a great storyteller. I consider myself blessed to be among those who knew him. Heather, Diana, my heart goes out to you and the whole family.

Heather I am so glad I got to see you and AL at Red X last Sunday and share with him how many people have stopped me and shared how much they miss him riding through the neighborhoods on the motorcycle and how they truly appreciated him stopping the bike to share it with the children.

I have known Alfred for a lot of years.  He was a very special man always willing to listen and never put down.  My heart goes out to Heather, Diana and Teresa, Eric and Shelia and the other family members and friends who will so sorely miss him.

I am very thankful for getting know Al, I will miss seeing his smile. Al would always have time to talk to the kids and show the police motorcycle to them. Gonna miss all his helicopter stories. RIP Al we got from here brother!

Al was a delight to be around.  My fondest memory is Al  parking his wheel at a Riverside and a crowd of boys at the swimming pool gathering around him, one of which said something that tickled him so, he laughed out loud and tousled his hair. Al always had a story to share, whether it was the Army or while at KCPD. He really got a kick of some of his own stories and would crack himself up.  He will be missed.

Alfred was a great guy. I knew him from the time I was 4 years old growing up on n. Cypress. He was always so good to my dad and mom.  I will not be able to come to his service. Please know my thoughts are with you all.

My family and I were blessed to  know such a man. I always loved hearing the different adventures he experienced throughout his life, and career. My children always looked for Al when they arrived at a PAL event,  or gathering to visit with him. While leading the parades he always made time to pull his  motorcycle over and visit with my children.  Al definitely left BIG foot prints, and will be missed. God Bless Al, and his Family.

Heather, I am extremely sorry to hear about Al's passing.  He always had a smile on his face and was always there when he was needed. Personally Al was a fellow police officer, a fellow veteran, and a dear friend, he will be truly missed. Again sorry for you loss.

Al never lost his passion for and dedication to policing, the people he worked with, or the kids of Riverside's F/PAL.  He set an example that made us all proud.

Heather and family, I am saddened that Al left us so early; he deserved a longer retirement after serving others for so long.  I want you to know that he and I spoke recently of his love of family, friends, and that he was "grateful for a full life and loving family", his words.  Know that he loved you all, and worked his life so you may have a better one.  He was one of a kind, and we will miss him around here.

Many prayers to comfort the family during this sad time. Al was a friendly, helpful officer that was a joy to be around. I enjoyed working with him on the KCPD and know he'll be missed by all that knew & loved him, including his "blue" family. Rest in peace Al.

Heather our prayers and sympathies go out to you and your family. I will miss the long talks and a beer with Al while waiting for you to get home from work. The last story Al told me about was when he went to St. Louis while the Pope was in Missouri.
