

Anna Belle Roy, 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on October 19, 2015. Anna was born August 22, 1923 in McCormick, Washington to Jesse Henry, Sr. and Ollie Delena Howard. Anna married Alvin Eugene Roy on January 23, 1939. Together they had three children, Jimmy, Sharon and Duane; seven grandchildren, Debbie, Shannon, Vicki, Greg, Brad, Leah and Tanner, as well as twelve great grandchildren. Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; son, Jimmie; and seven siblings. She was a member of Claycomo Baptist Church since 1967. She and her husband farmed in southern Missouri and then owned a country general store. They moved from Clever, MO to Kansas City in 1955 and later owned two motels, one in Kansas and a second in Joplin. They returned to Kansas City and in 1965; built the Royal Apartments in Claycomo, where they retired from business in 1988. She will be missed by her family and friends for her laughter, jokes and perfect mouth-watering dinner rolls, banana pudding and chocolate cream pies. She brought much joy to the lives of others. She will be missed. Funeral services for Anna will be Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1:00pm at Claycomo Baptist Church. 312 E. Longfellow Street, Kansas City, MO 64119, with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Alzheimer’s Research or Pancreatic Cancer research.
