Arthur Ray Wilt

Arthur Ray Wilt, born April 3, 1929, passed into the arms of his Lord on October 29, 2016. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, November 3rd, with visitation one hour prior, all at White Chapel Funeral Home. Art was the last surviving child of Earl and Versa (Wyrick) Wilt. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Louetta (Rowell) Wilt; biological daughters, Angela Fay Wilt and Constance Susan Harrison; step-children, Marjorie Colleen Milne, Keith Leroy Baitey, Carolyn Elaine Valdez and Robert Marvin Baitey, Jr.; grandchildren, Jonathan Paul Heuton, Jeremy Scott Heuton, Brandon Scott Wilt, Brian Keith Wilt and Austin Ray Wilt; and great-grandchildren, Paige Marie Heuton, Kamryn Miah Heuton, and Attikus Kai Heuton. Art retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a veteran, proudly serving during the Korean War. He loved his wife and children, not only by saying it often, but by his actions every day. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Art and Margaret flipped houses for many years on the side while he worked full time at Ford. One of his biggest bragging points was that his daughter told people that her dad could do anything. Nothing ever came along that he couldn’t figure out or fix. He was a kind, sweet loving man who loved to play pranks and tell tall tales. He tickled the people around him and often tickled himself the most. He was a super-sharp dresser who always maintained a gig line. Upon Art’s passing, one of his nieces stated, “He was the snazziest guy I knew.” Art gained the nickname of “Yard Art” from the family’s hair stylist in 2007 when his heart stopped beating properly and he went down in his front yard. A passerby resuscitated him, and God granted us many more years to laugh with him over this nickname that gave him great delight when the story was told. Art faithfully cared for his wife for many years as her body succumbed to Parkinson’s, until his body would no longer allow him to do so. We love you, we miss you, and we’ll see you again soon.
