Barbara Marie Thomas

Barbara was born on November 5, 1933 to Thomas “Hugh” and Esther Anderson. She was a graduate of Purdue University, where she met her husband of 67 years, Paul. She also attended Drury University. Barbara retired from bookkeeping with Weld Racing Wheels. For many years previously, she had been a bookkeeper at several distributors along “film row” in Kansas City.

She and husband Paul enjoyed gardening and traveling around Europe, especially canal boat cruises in the U.K. She was a member of Fairview Christian Church in Gladstone.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by her brother Gerry (Janice), three children, Lynn (Ed), Steve and David, as well as two grandchildren, Chris and Shawn.

The family would like to thank the staff of Assisted Living Plus and Long-term Care at McCrite Plaza at Briarcliff as well as Ascend Hospice.
