Barb was born October 27, 1930 in St. Louise, Missouri to Joseph and Imogene Morris. She attended Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri, graduating in 1947, earlier than her peers as she skipped two grades in school.
Barb married her husband, Buddy Walker, on January 13, 1947 and the two remained married for 37 years until his death in 1983. She worked for several financial institutions as a computer operator and teller. Barb attended Antioch Community Church where she loved to volunteer, she taught Sunday school, was an usher, and belonged to the women's group. She was an avid reader and bowler. Barb wrote four unpublished books. She had a very quick wit, an outgoing personality, and was incredibly generous with her time, money, and love. Barb was passionate about Democratic politics and worker's unions.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother. She is survived by a son, daughter, six grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all family and friends who have been a part of Barb's life and loved her for who she was. Thanks also is extended to all the caregivers at the New Mark Care Center and Crossroads Hospice.
